Game of Love

Hello all. How are you? This was inspired by the wonderful Carrie Underwood’s song, “Little Toy Guns”. I cannot stop playing it!

Two years no trigger through the heart.
Now words just sting like bees.
Cutting like a sharp blade.
Bleeding knowing damage done.
And you can’t turn away.

These times no matter what we do
Just walk a lonely steep.
Falling down a high cliff.
Crashing, thrashing tidal waves.
And you can’t take it back.

Why does love have to be a game?
Someone wins your heart and you tear it apart.
Why does love have to roll a dice?
One, walk. Two, stay. Three give up.
Oh, why does love have to be a game?

Why does love have to be something you play….

Can’t wipe the blood stains drown us in.
Now words choose them wisely.
Careful with the scar wounds.
Never healing easily.
And you just turn away.

Why does love have to be a game?
Someone wins your heart and you tear it apart.
Why does love have to roll a dice?
One, walk. Two, stay. Three give up.
Oh, why does love have to be a game?

Those smiling faces shattered like broken glass.
Can’t rewind no take backs it was all a mistake.
It was just a mistake…
Oh, but the damage is done.

Why does love have to be a game?
Someone wins your heart and you tear it apart.
Why does love have to roll a dice?
One, walk. Two, stay. Three give up.
Oh, why does love have to be a game?

Why does love have to be

Yeah, why does love have to be a game of tug of war?
Something you can’t erase. Something you can’t replace.
Oh, why does love have to, yeah why does love have to

Why does love have to be a game?
Someone wins your heart and you tear it apart.
Why does love have to roll a dice?
One, walk. Two, stay. Three give up.
Oh, why does love have to be a game?

We play to win.
